Attorney Scott W. Carpenter
Attorney Scott W. Carpenter practiced bankruptcy, civil litigation, and criminal defense with America Law Group, Inc. for over two years before joining New Day Legal, PLLC. Scott graduated cum laude from Hampton-Sydney College in 2011 with a B.A. in Philosophy, and he received his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2014, where he was active as a Law School Ambassador and Pro Bono Board Member. He received numerous academic awards in law school, including Best Oral Argument and several CALI Excellence for the Future Awards, which are given to the highest scoring student in each course. His pro bono work included collaboration with organizations such as South Carolina Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts and Harvest Hope Food Bank.
Scott continues to take pride in serving low-income clients, and he strives to provide quality representation to those who need it most and might not otherwise have access to it. He enjoys sports, playing guitar, hiking and reading. Scott lives in Richmond, Virginia with his wife and their pets (Otis the cat and Lenny the dog).”
